When I pass away, it’s not a light I want to see at the end of the tunnel, it’s the Rebel Chop House. Every time I enter the bar, the heavenly song of angels greets me as I stare upon their blackboard of beer. All Canadian and, except for a few bottles, all microbrew. If you don’t want the beer (because I hear there are some of you out there) they have a great wine list with nothing that’s going to break the bank, Single Malts to die for and Bourbons galore from your straight up Wild Turkey to a very elegant, warm and smooth Woodford Reserve, along with a varied choice of Tequilas, Vodkas and Gins.
Just in case you’re wondering, they serve food too. Good food. If you are there on a Sunday, count your blessings and order the prime rib dinner for $18.95 and you’d better go hungry, because this is a huge meal. Prime rib done the way you want, tasty crisp vegetables, your choice of potatoes and even Yorkshire pudding (I just drooled on my keyboard). Thursday nights are their big beef rib nights. These things are huge and delicious and the meat just falls away from the bone (Thursdays are not recommended for first dates). From appetizers to entrees, there is a lot to choose from. I know there should be something to complain about, but whenever I have had a problem it has always been taken care of with no questions asked.
The one thing that really makes this place special to me, though, is the staff. The varied personalities among the staff always offer the hope of entertaining conversation and a friendly place to pass the time. Cheers to you all.
Unless you are looking for someplace void of personality and life, it is worth a visit to the Rebel Chop House. Meal prices are reasonable and with the recent addition of the boulevard patio, you just can’t go wrong.
