So E & I felt like being cowgirls on Valentine’s Day & hoofed on over to Shanghai Cowgirl for dinner. Am I a true Shanghai Cowgirl if my grandmother was born in Shanghai? Anyway, I didn’t feel like fancy food, I just wanted some good old comfort food & that’s what I had. A very yummy burger topped with fried mushrooms, avocado, tomato, lettuce, red onions & mayonnaise served with a side order of fries. Obviously it was not a diet night. E had a burger too but opted for sweet potato fries & the server brought some wasabi mayonnaise to dip them in. Quite delicious. And can I say that the Screwdrivers were good & strong too - very important when you’re dateless & surrounded by couples on a Valentine’s evening.
The server also brought us a Valentine’s dessert, which was very sweet of him (get it, sweet?). It was chocolate pâté with cranberries which we spread on vanilla wafers served alongside raspberry coulis & big fat raspberries. Decadent. The server asked if we were on a date. HA! Not quite.
An easygoing, laidback atmosphere & friendly service makes Shanghai Cowgirl somewhere I would hang my hat on a regular basis to get my comfort food fix. Plus the prices are very reasonable. Yee haw!
